AAC announces aviation student accommodation complex for Archerfield (07/11/13)

Archerfield Airport Corporation (AAC) is investing more than $4 million to stimulate the development of pilot training at the airport. The Corporation today unveiled plans for its onsite aviation student accommodation complex (pictured), a first for the airport.

Originally let by the Federal Airports Corporation in the early 1990’s for commercial office purposes, Building 9 in Grenier Drive will be transformed into a hub for aviation activities.

When the refurbishment work is completed next year, the two-storey building will accommodate up to 40 aviation students and feature modern décor, personal breakout study areas, and commercial kitchen, dining and lounge rooms. Up to four offices on the ground floor will also be available for lease by commercial tenants, with a preference given to those providing aviation-related services........
