Media Release - Budding aviators set to snap up chance for free Archerfield trials

(11/06/15)

Archerfield Airport will play host to hundreds of the nation’s potential professional pilots and aircraft engineers, as well as a large number of recreational aviators, during The Airline Academy of Australia’s (The Academy’s) open day on Saturday June 13.

The Academy Group Managing Director Craig Duncan said the prestigious flying school has launched a comprehensive recruitment drive amid a major upswing in demand.

“The desire for professionals is outstripping supply at a rapid rate, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region,” Mr Duncan said.

“The latest Boeing Pilot and Technician Outlook predicts that 533,000 new commercial airline pilots and 584,000 new maintenance technicians will be needed to fly and maintain the world’s fleet over the next 20 years, giving the Academy the rare opportunity to capitalise on a burgeoning industry,” he said.

The Academy will be running free 15-minute trial introductory flights, two-for-one Boeing 737 simulator flights, free engineering workshops as well as free flight demonstrations, and will also be hosting talks from a number of industry insiders.
