Response to AACCI's media release: "Airport Plan a Grab for Industrial Land"
(21/02/11)
Attempts by the management of Archerfield Airport Chamber of Commerce Incorporated (AACCI) to discredit the airport's master planning and public consultation process question the group's own professional standards, according to Archerfield Airport Corporation (AAC).
Spokesperson for AAC, Corrie Metz, said the information the Chamber relied on to justify its position regarding the proposed realignment of the grass runways, was considered by AAC after it was presented at a previous consultation meeting, but was not considered suitable for airport planning purposes.
“The Chamber has relied on data taken from meteorological sites located at Brisbane Airport and the old Brisbane Regional Office at Spring Hill. These locations differ significantly compared with local conditions here at Archerfield.
